Dave worked closely with his Key Worker to address his debts…

Homeless Case Study - DaveDave lived in a private rented property, but he was struggling to pay his rent and had fallen into debt. He was not able to sustain his tenancy and was about to become homeless.

Dave had previously been supported by us and he called his Key Worker who arranged for him to come back to us. There was a place available in our Sheerness project and Dave moved in.

Debts & Housing…

Dave worked closely with his Key Worker to address his debts. In particular he lacked confidence with reading and making phone calls to utility companies. His Key Worker’s intervention has resulted in an affordable debt repayment plan and he now understands how to budget, so that he doesn’t get into debt again.

After a year with us Dave’s Key Worker supported him to find a council flat and some furnishings for his new home, he now lives independently not far from our Sheerness project. Dave is attending literacy classes in the hope that he can find employment, but in the meantime he volunteers once a week in the garden at our Sheerness project.

Dave believes he would be homeless if he had not been offered support by Pathways, but now he understands budgeting he feels he can maintain his tenancy and live debt free.

And Now…

Dave works as a volunteer for us!
